Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 14 May 2025  |  Effective: 14 May 2025  |  Ruamjai, Bangkok, Thailand

1. Definitions

2. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a watch for service or accepting a written service quote from Ruamjai, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Our services are available to individuals aged 18 and over who have the legal capacity to enter into a contract under Thai law.

If you submit a watch on behalf of another person, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that the other person's details may be used in connection with the service.

3. Services Provided

Ruamjai offers three categories of service:

Services are provided from our Bangkok workshop. We do not accept postal or courier submissions from outside Bangkok at this time.

4. Assessment, Quotes, and Approval

All watches are assessed before any service work begins. You will receive a written quote confirming the scope of work and the total cost. No work will commence until you have confirmed your acceptance of the quote.

If additional work is found to be necessary after service has started, we will contact you before proceeding. You may decline additional work, in which case the original scope will be completed and the watch returned.

Quoted prices are in Thai Baht (฿) and are inclusive of labour and standard consumables (lubricants, gaskets). Parts sourced at additional cost will be itemised separately and require your approval before ordering.

5. Customer Responsibilities

6. Payment

Payment is due in full upon collection of the watch. We accept cash (Thai Baht), bank transfer, and PromptPay. We do not currently accept credit cards.

Cancellation: If you cancel a service after work has begun, you will be charged for the proportion of work completed at the time of cancellation.

Disputes: If you have a concern about the service or the charge, please contact us within 14 days of collection. We will review the matter and respond within seven working days.

7. Custody and Care of Your Watch

We take all reasonable care of watches left in our custody. Watches are stored securely when not actively under service. A condition record is made at intake for each piece.

While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot be held liable for pre-existing damage, deterioration resulting from the age or condition of a movement or case, or losses arising from causes outside our control (including theft, fire, or natural disaster) beyond the extent of our public liability insurance.

We recommend retaining evidence of the watch's value (purchase receipt, insurance valuation) prior to submission.

8. Disclaimers

Watch repair and restoration involves inherent risks, particularly for older and vintage movements. While we work to the best of our skill and experience, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes — such as a watch achieving a particular rate accuracy — as these depend on the condition and history of the individual piece.

Our services are provided by skilled craftspeople, not authorised manufacturer service centres. If your watch is under a manufacturer's warranty, servicing by Ruamjai may affect that warranty. We recommend checking your warranty terms before proceeding.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Thai law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from a service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for that service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be limited by Thai law.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the Ruamjai website — including text, images, design, and documentation — is the property of Ruamjai and may not be reproduced without written permission. Nothing in our service relationship transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

11. Termination of Service

We reserve the right to decline or discontinue a service at any time if we consider the work to be beyond our capabilities or outside the scope of services we offer. In such cases, the watch will be returned to you without charge for work not yet performed.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. In the event of a dispute, the parties agree to first attempt resolution through direct communication. If no resolution is reached within 30 days, the matter may be referred to the courts of Bangkok, Thailand.

Thai consumer protection laws, including the Consumer Protection Act B.E. 2522, apply where relevant.

13. General Provisions

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
