Three Services, Each with a Clear Purpose
Whether your watch needs a battery and a quick check, a complete mechanical overhaul, or a careful restoration of something long-held, there is a service here for it.
Back to HomeHow We Work
Each service at Ruamjai follows the same underlying process — careful assessment, honest communication, and work done to a standard we are comfortable standing behind.
1. Assessment
The watch is examined and its condition noted before anything else. You receive a clear account of what we find and a quote for the appropriate service.
2. Service
Work proceeds with the right tools and lubricants for the calibre. If anything unexpected appears, we contact you before continuing.
3. Verification
After service, timing is checked, water resistance tested where applicable, and the watch runs for a period before we consider it ready to return.
Battery & Care
Attentive care for quartz watches, including a fresh battery, contact cleaning, seal review, and a light case clean. Where rated, water resistance is confirmed and gentle advice given on any gasket that should be renewed. A simple, useful service for everyday pieces; usually a few days.
- Battery replacement with quality cell
- Contact and terminal cleaning
- Seal inspection and renewal where needed
- Light case and crystal clean
- Water resistance test (rated models)

Full Service
A complete service for mechanical watches losing steady timekeeping. We clean and re-oil the movement, inspect the balance and mainspring, replace worn parts where needed, and regulate the timing across positions. Seals are renewed and the crown checked. Suited to daily watches; about three weeks.
- Complete movement disassembly and ultrasonic clean
- Inspection of balance, mainspring, and escapement
- Re-oiling with grade-appropriate lubricants
- Timing regulation across six positions
- Seal, crown, and case tube renewal
Process
Heirloom Restoration
A careful restoration for family heirlooms and treasured older watches. We overhaul the movement, conserve the case and dial in keeping with their age, and make every decision together with you. Original parts are retained wherever possible, and the work is documented. Six to eight weeks.
- Full movement overhaul with parts sourcing
- Case and dial conservation — no unnecessary refinishing
- Original parts retained wherever function allows
- Owner consulted at each significant decision point
- Written restoration record provided at collection

Standards Applied Across All Services
Regardless of the service type, these practices are consistent.
Written Quote First
We confirm the cost in writing before work begins. No invoice surprises on collection.
Secure Watch Custody
Watches are stored securely when not on the bench. Each piece is logged in and out of active work.
Correct Lubricants
We use calibre-appropriate lubricants. Using the wrong grade shortens a movement's service life; we take this seriously.
Timing Verification
Mechanical movements are tested on a timing machine after service — not estimated by ear or feel.
No Unnecessary Work
We do not add services that are not needed. A watch that is running well and only needs a battery gets a battery and a check — not an upsell.
Progress Communication
For longer jobs, we provide updates. If you have not heard from us and want to know where things stand, a message is always welcome.
