What Customers Say
I brought in a mechanical watch that had been running about three minutes fast per day. Wanchai explained the regulation process clearly, gave me a written quote, and the watch came back running within about eight seconds a day across five days. That's about as good as I expected for an older movement. Good honest work.
Full Service — May 2025
The battery service took a bit longer than I expected — five days rather than the two or three they mentioned. That said, they called when an old gasket needed replacing and explained the cost before doing anything. The watch has been water-tight since. I would go back.
Battery & Care — April 2025
My grandfather's watch — a Swiss mechanical from the 1960s — had not run in about fifteen years. I was nervous about leaving it anywhere. Ruamjai walked me through everything: the condition of the movement, which parts were worn, what they were going to do. Seven weeks later, the watch runs. The dial was not touched. Exactly what I wanted.
Heirloom Restoration — April 2025
I collect watches as a hobby and have been to several repair shops in Bangkok over the years. Ruamjai is the only one where I've seen a timing machine actually in use on my watch rather than sitting decoratively in the background. The full service on my Seiko 6105 brought it back to within factory spec. Worth the wait.
Full Service — May 2025
Straightforward experience. Battery and gasket replaced in about four days, water test done. The service note they gave on collection was helpful — it lists what was replaced and the test result. I wasn't expecting that level of documentation for a battery service. Nice detail.
Battery & Care — May 2025
My father's watch came back to me after fifteen years in a drawer. I nearly sent it to a department store counter but decided to look for someone more careful. The Ruamjai team kept me informed throughout — including a call when they found the crown stem was cracked and needed replacing. They sourced a period-appropriate part rather than a generic substitute. That matters.

Service Stories
Three accounts of watches brought in, the situation each presented, and how the service went.
Challenge
1960s Swiss Lever Movement, Stopped
A watch brought in that had not run in over a decade. The movement was seized and the mainspring suspected to be set. Dial and case were original and the owner did not want them touched.
Service
Heirloom Restoration
Movement removed and disassembled. Mainspring replaced (original had set fully), escapement cleaned and jewels inspected, balance service performed. Case cleaned gently without polishing. New crown fitted to match period style.
Result
Running within 12 sec/day
Seven weeks total, including three weeks of parts sourcing. Watch returned running accurately, dial untouched, full written restoration log provided. Owner confirmed the watch had not run for at least fifteen years.
"I was prepared for them to say it was not worth fixing. They gave me a detailed assessment and left the decision entirely to me. I'm glad I said yes." — Pornpan A., Bangkok
Challenge
Daily Automatic, Losing 3–4 Minutes Daily
A Japanese automatic worn daily for eight years with no prior service. Running noticeably slow and the rotor felt rough. Owner uses it for work and needed it back within a reasonable time.
Service
Full Service
Complete movement overhaul including rotor bearing replacement (worn). Ultrasonic clean, re-oil, timing regulation across six positions. Seals renewed. Crown checked and found serviceable.
Result
Running +4 sec/day (dial-up)
Completed in three weeks. The owner wears the watch regularly and reports it has stayed within about eight seconds a day across different positions — a significant improvement from the four-minute loss it had been showing.
"Eight years of daily wear and it had never been properly cleaned. The difference after the service is obvious — much smoother winding and the rate is stable." — Kriangkrai T., Bangkok
Challenge
Quartz Dress Watch, Erratic Timekeeping
A quartz dress watch that would run correctly for a few days and then lose several hours unpredictably. A new battery from another shop had not helped. Owner suspected a fault in the movement.
Service
Battery & Care + Investigation
Initial assessment revealed corroded battery contacts and a small amount of moisture inside the case. Contacts cleaned thoroughly, new battery fitted, seals replaced. Case dried and sealed. Water resistance tested at rated pressure.
Result
Stable for 3+ months after service
Returned in four days. The owner followed up three months later to report the watch had been keeping accurate time consistently. The erratic behaviour had been caused by moisture affecting the contacts — nothing more serious.
"I thought it needed a new movement. Turned out to be moisture and a corroded contact. They explained it clearly and the fix was straightforward." — Malee L., Nonthaburi
